ABOUT

Jacob White is a horn player, arranger, and composer based in Iowa. He received his B.M. in Horn Performance from Oklahoma State University in 2018 while studying with innovative pedagogue Lanette Compton. Jacob continued his studies at the University of Redlands and earned his M.M. in Horn Performance in 2020, studying with avid freelancer and composer Adam Wolf. As a performer, Jacob has played with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra, Southern California Brass Consortium, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and the American Youth Symphony of Los Angeles. Jacob has worked with world renowned hornists such as Denise Tryon, Randy Gardner, Amy Jo Rhine, and Jaclyn Rainey. Currently, he is the Assistant Principal Horn with the Des Moines Symphony and Assistant Horn with Orchestra Iowa.

When not performing, Jacob is an arranger, orchestrator, and transcriber. He has been arranging music for all kinds of ensembles for more than eight years. Several of his arrangements have been performed by the Oklahoma State University Instrumental Studios, the Kendall Betts Horn Camp Ensemble, the University of Missouri - Kansas City Horn Studio, and the Texas All Star Horn Professors Horn Choir. Jacob has also had arrangements performed at International Horn Symposiums, the 2018 Texas Music Educators Association Convention, Mid-South Horn Workshops, as well as various schools and other events throughout the United States.
